We are blessed to be able to offer this trip to see the White Lions in Timbavati in August 2008. Here are the details.

Dates: Arrive 4th August 2008 - Depart 8th August 2008 (Four nights)

This trip is a soul journey. An opportunity to discover more about yourself, in a unique setting of amazing energy, with incredible people, and of course the gift of being able to see and communicate with the magnificent White Lions

Activities will include:

• At least two drives to see the White Lions with the scientific monitoring team (a dawn and a dusk trip)
  A debriefing session and group sharing of what you experienced.

• Gathering of the group at the Wild Fig forest for a Riverside picnic brunch.

• Animal soul Walk. 3 hour walk in silence under the canopy of the Klaserie River, together with an expert Shangaan tracker tracing animal spoor. Animals spotted, or spoor identified, are conveyed through sign language only.

• Dream analysis workshop of symbols and dreams which the individuals in the group have experienced on White Lion territory.

• Chief Xhosa’s village Traditional dinner with the Shangaan Chief of the Region and his family under the African skies. Hosi Khosa is the nephew of Lion Queen of Timbavati, Maria Khosa. The evenings highlight concludes with an enthusiastic and heart-warming crescendo of drumming and traditional Shangaan warrior dancing around the fire.

• Romantic sun-set hideaway night out, overlooking Drakensburg Mountains.

• Sleep-outs around the fire in the reeded boma.

• Sunset Game drives in open game drive vehicle.

• White Lion Genetics and Reintroduction Protocol - Informal presentation by Jason Turner, lion ecologist heading up the White Lion reintroduction, on the scientific and genetic significance of this endangered phenotype of Panthera leo, which the Global White Lion Protection Trust is urgently striving to have listed for CITES protection.

• The Mystery of the White Lions and the Riddle of the Sphinx – Presentation by Linda Tucker charting the Ancient Egyptian links between the White Lion land in the South and the Great sphinx of Gisa due North on the Nile Meridian.

• Documentary feature on the Global White Lion Protection Trust’s efforts to save the White Lions from extinction, which reveals the extraordinary cultural legacy of myths and oral tradition surrounding these legendary beasts.

• Additional option for evening Video Showings (Big Screen Digital Projector). For example: Mysteries of the Sphinx, Lion King, To Walk with Lions (Adamson’s Story), White Lions of Timbavati: Chris McBrides story, Eternal Enemies, Lion Battlefields, etc.

Costs:

A four night stay, including all meals, accommodation, game drives and optional items listed above. R6750.00 per person excluding travel costs.

Transport budget

• Flying from Jhb to Hoedspruit SAA charge R1140.00 each way. (They sometimes have specials)

• Car hire: A citi golf from Jhb costs less than R2000.00 for 6 days, therefore about R500.00 per person plus fuel if 4 ppl share a car.

• Self drive in your own car (with lift sharing and shared fuel)

"This is a totally unique opportunity to track the first White Lions to set paw back in their natural endemic habitat after more than 12 years of technical extinction in the wild. So as not to negatively impact on the lions, you will join the scientific monitoring team in their scheduled dawn and dusk tracking/monitoring in White Lion territory. Please note: Tsau Centre for White Lion Reintroduction is not open to the public."
